Take Care Of Your Lingerie So It Will Take Care Of You

Once you’ve found the perfect fitting pieces to compliment your wardrobe and make you feel your best, then it’s very important to care for them properly. After spending so much time and money on your lingerie the last thing you want to do is just throw everything into the washer and dryer and ruin it or wear it out long before it’s time. With proper care, you will keep your lingerie looking it’s best. Lingerie fabrics can be delicate. Laces, silks, satins–all need to be handled with a little TLC. Bras in particular will lose their shape rapidly without proper laundering.

For best results, hand washing with a delicate soap is recommended. You can use a soap made for hand washing such as Woolite, or even a gentle shampoo can be used, which has the added benefit of smelling really terrific. Rub your lingerie pieces gently to remove sweat and body oils and then soak for a few minutes. A thorough rinsing will remove the all the soap and that’s it– you are done. Gently squeeze all the water from the pieces and definitely hang them out of direct sunlight to dry. (NEVER use the dryer!)

If you are adamant about using the washer to wash your skivvies, here are a couple of hints will make your experience more positive. Firstly, use cold water and the delicate cycle. This will ensure that your washer isn’t abusing your sexy pieces or causing them undue wear and tear. Secondly, if at all possible, use a mesh bag to put your bras into when you launder them. This will help the bra straps and wires not end up in a tangled mess and ensure that they aren’t being wound around the agitator of your washing machine.

Good lingerie can be expensive and is an investment. With proper care, you will dramatically extend the life of your lingerie, and it will stay looking it’s best longer. There is nothing worse than putting on your favorite panties to discover that they now have a tear in the lace or having an underwire from a bra poking through, stabbing you somewhere it’s not supposed to. Save yourself these disasters by taking a little extra time to wash your intimate apparel appropriately. Xo J.

What Kind of Lingerie Does Your Guy Like?

With so many styles of lingerie out there it can be challenging at times to know which styles are going to get you noticed by your guy.  Here’s a helpful guide that will help you as you wade through the sea of choices out there in lingerie-land.

Get Down To Business

He’s All Business. This guy is sophisticated and driven.   It shouldn’t be surprising then that he is going to like lingerie that is a little more sophisticated and glamorous.  Corsets or bustiers as well as garter belts with thigh high stocking are high on his favorites list.  Fabrics like laces and satins will excite the businessman as well.   Classic sexy colors like black, red and white will be the ones that turn this guys head.

The Jock. The athletic type of guy will appreciate your girly yet sporty style.  Camisoles and boy shorts are a great place to start.   Shorty tee’s or short sets w/ tanks are a great choice for PJ’s with this guy, he wants to see your legs and he will appreciate the your casual look.

Be The Girl Next Door

The Guy Next Door. This guy is simple and uncomplicated and so should your lingerie choices be.  Stick with simple pieces that are sweet and sexy.  Matching bra and panty sets are perfect.  For sleepovers, try a baby doll in a pastel color.  This steamy set is bound to get his attention and keep it.

Artist or Musician. This man has great appreciation for your female beauty and wants to see your assets and girl curves at their best advantage.  Look for lingerie that accentuates these features in you.  Push up bras and tanga panties are perfect and will make him take notice of your beautiful curvature.  A beautiful cleavage-baring teddy will get your very visual artist looking at you like you are a Greek goddess.

The Tech Nerd. This guy is fascinated with how things work.  Whatever your lingerie choices are, make sure they have some fun gadgets for him to play with or undo.  Look for laces, hooks, ties, ribbons, garters, etc.  The more parts your lingerie has, the more fun he will have touching it and eventually removing it.

Be HIs Bad Girl

The Bad boy. This naughty boy likes the really sexy lingerie.  Sheer fabrics, g-strings, thongs, crotchless panties and other peek-a-boo styles are going to make him go crazy.   Leather and lace combinations in black are a great place to start with your guy since he loves the risqué stuff.  Good luck keeping this wild child in line.

Perfectly Matched

Remember Garanimals? Garanimals was a line of children’s wear that many of us wore as kids. Each shirt or pants would have an animal label in it. If you wore a top with a zebra label with a pair of pants with a zebra label, you were guaranteed that the two clothing items would match. This was the manufacturer’s stroke of genius to help little kids put outfits together that not only matched, but also looked put together. It took a little of the pressure off our parents I am sure. Kids could dress themselves with confidence and we weren’t getting sent back to our rooms for better or more appropriate options. Everybody won.

Well, we’ve come a long ways since the days of matching animal tags. I do still have a thing for matched sets, however, but these days it’s more in the form of beautiful and sexy lingerie. I love to have my bra and panties match, or at the very least coordinate. If they are super pretty and matching as well, its all the better for me. To me there is something incredibly sexy and beautiful about putting on a perfectly matched set of lingerie underneath my clothes. I love the way gorgeous lingerie makes me feel. It doesn’t even matter if nobody but me ever sees it—I know it’s there and it makes me happy.

I’m convinced that beautiful lingerie makes you feel confident and pretty. There is something especially nice about a coordinating bra and panty set. I used to only have a few, and I would save those special sets for important occasions. Most of my day-to-day underwear was separates in basic colors. It occurred to me at some point that I was missing out on a great opportunity to wear truly lovely things that made me actually feel better about myself and my appearance. There was no point in saving the super nice stuff for special occasions. Why not wear it every day? Good lingerie makes you look better in your clothes, which translates to a greater confidence in how you feel about wearing those clothes. When you feel like a sexy and confident woman this shows on the outside, whether you can see your undies or not.

We’re big girls now and we’ve certainly outgrown a few things. Matching sets needn’t be one of them, however and I strongly encourage you to give some a try and see what I am talking about. There is no excuse to have only boring and practical lingerie now. Don’t save the pretty stuff–wear it today. Wear it every day.
